North Penn High School, 1997

Jay appreciates this opportunity to be recognized by the North Penn Alumni Association Hall of Fame along with the many outstanding Athletics who attended NPHS.

Jay was always competitive from a very young age, earning him the opportunity to become a starting point guard in his freshman on the boys’ varsity team in 1994. As a shooter, Jay was a dominate force on the court, especially from the 3 point Line where he lead Southeastern, PA in 3 point  field goals in 1996 & 1997.

In Jay's four year playing career at North Penn High School, he was consistently ranked in the Top Ten in Southeastern, PA and his team earned high seeds in the District One 4A tournaments playing against future NBA Hall of Fame players: Kobe Bryant (Lower Merion), RIP Hamilton (Coatesville),

In the late 1990's, Jay received honors (1 of 5 players) from the North Penn Reporter 1900’s Decade  "ALL Century Team" and  (1 of 15 players)  from the Philadelphia Inquirer "All Decade Team". Although not heavily recruited by many major colleges, Jay decided to take his chance as a walk-on at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY in 1998. After playing at LIU for "2" seasons, he found his way back to Philly and decided to walk-on again at Temple University for the legendary coach John Chaney. Temple went on a magical run in the NCAA tournament in 2001 but lost in the Elite Eight to Michigan State.

After college, Jay immediately began his training/coaching career by starting “Jameson Basketball” in 2002. Jameson Basketball was an immediate hit with the local basketball community. He has trained many players who went on to play in college and developed special relationships with all of his players. He also trained NBA Lottery picks Gerald Henderson, JR. and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

In January 2018, Jay took a step back from training to focus on his new web site (Jamesonbasketball.org) which features online training for players all over the world. He is also writing a book about his basketball journey.

Jay currently resides in Lansdale, PA. He would like to thank his family, teammates, coaches, and students for this amazing basketball career.
