North Penn High School, 2000 Jay is honored to be part of the 2016 class of inductees in the North Penn Athletic Hall of Fame. His career began as a 9th grader and started joining Coach Mike Fergus in the high school open gyms and weight lifting sessions. He was a 4 time Varsity letter winner and helped lead the Knights to District playoffs along with two State Playoff appearances. He led the Knights his junior and senior year with 20 points per game and 10 rebounds per game. He credits his success by having great mentors and coaching leaders like Mike Fergus who took weekends out of his schedule to drive him to recruiting trips. After High School, Jay attended Division 1 Southern Conference School, University of North Carolina Greensboro. Recruited by Philadelphia Native Fran McCaffery, Joseph was immediately named the Southern Conference Freshman of the Year after leading the Spartans to a NCAA Tournament berth verse the Stanford Cardinals in the West Region. He graduated all-time leading scorer with 1,646 and now ranks second in Program History. Joseph also helped lead the Spartans to a Pre-Season NIT appearance verse 2003 Kansas Jayhawks and Post season appearance verse Jay now lives in Quakertown, PA with his fiancée Darlene and Son Jovanni Joseph. He currently is the Director of Pennsylvania Basketball Shooting Academy & North Penn Basketball Shooting Academy that helps kids improve their basketball skills on a year round basis. Jay is much honored to be included in the North Penn Alumni Athletic Association Hall of Fame. |
