Jim is honored to be inducted into the North Penn Athletic Hall of Fame. His love for sports started at the young age of 5 while participating in local youth sports organizations, (Towamencin Youth Association and the Lansdale Cannoneers football team). As a sophomore Jim knew that his academic experience and athletic opportunities would be challenging. He won many awards participating on the basketball, football, and track teams throughout his career at North Penn. As a junior Jim was North Penn’s first 1000 yd rusher and repeated that goal again as a senior. He is honored to say that he graduated from North Penn High School! Jim attributes his success to his Father and Mother, James Sr. and Shelia Williams who provided guidance and support, and since the age of 5 never missed a single sporting event.
Jim received a full football scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh. Jim was very successful during his five years at Pitt where he received many academic honors and finished as a four year letterman. Jim received both his Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Math and his Master’s degree in education at the University of Pittsburgh.
Jim has come back full circle to where he started teaching 7th grade Mathematics, at Pennbrook Middle school. He coached defensive back at North Penn High school for 16 years and coached running backs on the 2003 North Penn State Championship team. Jim continues to coach football, basketball, and Track & Field at Pennbrook Middle School.
Jim is married to Dori and has two wonderful children Jade and Jordan. Jim would also like to thank Bill Travers, his high school football coach and former principal at North Penn, Dr. Juan Baughn for guiding him through his high school career. These two men are a big reason why he chose to pursue Education.
