On Saturday, your North Penn Knights battled against the Interboro Buccaneers in the District 1 championship game.

Once again the Knights' defense implemented that "bend but don't break" style of play. After allowing Interboro to score on its first drive, the defense didn't allow another point until the fourth quarter, but by then the Knights had already clinched the win.

This week's offensive threats weren't Casertano or Laky, but Akins and Wutti. Although, Wutti didn't complete any passes he gained the yards on the ground and scored a touchdown and 2-point conversion. Akins rushed for144 yards, 2 touchdowns, and constantly gave Interboro's defense trouble.

The Knights will be facing Parkland in the state semifinals at Neshaminy. Parkland may have Austin Scott, but the Knights have a handful of playmakers and a defense that has played well against the run all year. This game looks to be a low scoring, but extremely exciting game. The victory will go to whoever can stop the other team's offense.

Pre-Game Write-up

On Saturday the Knights will be taking on the Interboro Buccaneers in a clash for the district championship and the next round.

Once again, the Knights will face another somewhat undersized team, but the key to this team isn't passing. The Bucs take pride in their running game, just like the Knights. Also, with a 220-pound quarterback, the Knights' defense will have to tackle well to bring down this fellow. But if anyone's up to the task then it's the Knights, whose defense has played well against the run all season.

If the Knights offense continues to put points on the board, and the defense holds its opponent, this match-up should prove to be an exciting game. Interboro won't go down without a fight, so come out and see who is victorious in this Battle of the Underdogs.
