The Knights were in action again tonight, taking on the Neshaminy Redskins. Neshaminy, entering the game 3-3, was looking for an upset. North Penn also came out hungry, looking for their 7th straight win. Tonight's game was also broadcast live on PCN, as The Game Of The Week.
The Knights offense picked up where they left off last week. A score by Kevin Akins, after an 11 play drive gave North Penn an ealy 7-0 lead in the first. The quarter was capped off by a 36 yard tuchdown pass by QB Adam Hearns to Jim Laky with 2:28 left in the first. A huge sack by Jeff Ball, with the fumble recovery by Chad Finney in the second gave the Knights boost of confidence. A fumble on the Knights insuing drive led to a Neshaminy TD by # 3, Rodney Davis with just under 10 seconds in the half. An earlier score by Akins however gave the Knights a 21-7 lead going into half time.
North Penn came out fired up in the second half, with a 67 yard run by Akins only 2 minutes into the half. Jim Casertano had an excellent game on both ends of the ball, with big runs on offense and big stops on D. Jim Laky scored his second touchdown of the game on a run 4 minutes into the 4th.
The defense was outstanding tonight, with big tackles made by Jeff Ball, George Farrell, and Eric Halberstadt. Chad Finney had a huge stop, with the Redskins on a fourth and goal, and allowed the Knights to take over on downs. Seniors Chris Tribanas and Andrew Brown had strong defensive games, which allowed the Knights to win yet another contest.
The Knights cruised to a 35-17 victory, giving them thier 7th straight win. The Knights win their first division game, with this defeat of Neshaminy. A re-broadcast of tonight's game can be seen on PCN tomorrow at 11:30 PM. North Penn hosts C.B. East this coming Friday night at Crawford Stadium.
