You knew you were in for a good game when the opening kick off against Truman on Friday night when through the uprights. The Knights started strong, tallying 34 points in just the first quarter. The offence was led by Deanco Oliver (#13), who led the Knights with 2 touchdowns. Jim Casertano (#43) and Chad Finney (#33) also scored in the first quarter along with Adam Hearns (#8) who ran untouched into the end zone. Eric Halberstadt (#18) added to the scoring with a touchdown of his own. Kicker Jon Striefsky(#81), with his first start went 5 for 5, making all his extra point attempts.
The Knights defense was strong once again, hardly allowing the Tigers offence past midfield. With tackles by Andrew Brown, George Farrell, and a fumble recovery by Chad Finney the Knights only allowed Truman 8 points through four quarters. Final score: 47-8 in favor of North Penn.
The Knights are back in action this Friday, the 19th against the Abington Ghosts at Crawford Stadium.

The North Penn Knights have been preparing for a long time for this 2003 season. Since last January and training camp the Knights having just been getting better and better. Adam Hearns continues to develop at QB. Akins, Oliver, Laky, Casertano, Ball, Farrell, Tribanas all just keep getting better. This in turn gives North Penn strong weapons on both sides of the ball. The Knights came up short in the final stretch of the 2002 season, which is the reason for this years slogan, "UNFINISHED BUSINESS." And that is exactly what North Penn has done these opening weeks, taken care of business. The big home opener against Cardinal O'Hara the Knights came out prepared and disciplined and walked away with a 35 - 7 victory. Week two lied another challenge in Bethlehem Catholic, the Knights spent all week studying the complex offense of Becca and it paid-off. The Knights managed a 38 - 7 victory. And the story this week was no different. The Knights traveled to Harry S. Truman and came out strong putting up 34 points in the first quarter. Deanco Oliver had a TD grab to open up the game and with scores by Jim Casertano and Chad Finny's fumble return the Knights took care of business defeating Truman 47 - 8. They face the Abington Ghosts next week at Crawford Stadium. Abington is coming off a big win this week beating Neshaminy 28 - 21. The Knights will have have to prepare diligently this week in order to beat Abington. Currently North Penn is 13 - 13 - 1 against Abington.
