WAY TO GO SOPHOMORES!!


NP vs. Norristown
20 - 6 Win

The sophomore team defeated Norristown 20-6 to put its record at 6-0-1. Adam Hearns intercepted a pass on the first drive of the game and returned it 30 yards for a touchdown. With the score tied at 6 in the third quarter, John Trumbauer scored on a 7 yard run to make it 12-6. Hearns connected with Chris Cazier for the two point conversion and the score was 14-6. North Penn scored again in the fourth quarter as Hearns completed a 35 yard pass to Mike Carney to make the score 20-6. Shane Gallagher ran hard all day and the offense line did a great job of blocking in the second half. Defensively, the defensive line led by Mike McGinn, Mike Ziegenfuss, Eric Sullivan, and Nick Heebner played well all game and registered 5 sacks. Eric Halberstadt and Peter Lee also palyed well defensively. The Sophomore team ends its season next Monday against Norristown at home.

NP vs. William Tennet
14 - 14 Tie

Francis Rocci and Greg Warrick played well up front to pave the way for Shane Gallagher who scored and ran well all game. Defensively Mike Maginn and Sullivan lead the way with plenty of tackling. Jon Trumbauer had an interception along with Eric Haberstadt. Unfortunately turnovers and some desperation passing by Tennet made it possible for them to tie the game.

NP vs. C. B. East
6 - 0 Win

The sophomore team defeated C.B. East yesterday 6-0. Shane Gallagher scored the lone touchdown of the day running around the right end. The defense had another big day, led by Adam Hearns with two key interceptions and several big tackles and Mike Mcginn also played a good defensive game. The defense had a huge stop late in the fourth quarter to prevent CB East from scoring from the 1 yard line. The sophomores travel to William Tennet next Monday.

NP vs. Neshaminy
22 - 0 Win

The North Penn Sophomore team upped its record to 4-0 with a 22-0 victory over visiting Neshaminy. The victory was a total team effort. The Knights first score came in the first quarter with Greg Quintrell running up the middle for the touchdown. Shane Gallagher added the extra point. With the Knights shutting down Neshimany's offense the score was 8-0 going into half-time. Gallagher then scored in the third quarter to put the Knights up 14-0. Quintrell added the final touchdown and David Gonsor caught a pass from Ryan Kelley for the 2 point conversion. The offense was led by Quintrell, Gallagher, Peter Lee, and Ian Thacker all running the ball hard. Chris Cazier and the entire offensive line did an excellent job all day blocking and leading the way for the backfield. The defense was steady all day and was led by Mike McGinn, Adam Hearns, Lee and a strong defensive effort by the front four.

The sophomore team's next game is Monday October 14 at home against CB East.

NP vs. Pennsbury
20 - 0 Win

The Sophomore team defeated Pennsbury yesterday 20-0. Eric Halberstadt scored from 2 yards out on a QB sneak in the first quarter. Peter Lee scored in the second quarter on a 35 yard reverse that included some spectacular moves. Peter Lee also scored the final touchdown on a 15 yard counter play. Shane Gallagher added the two point conversion. The entire offensive line played great and Greg Qunitrell and Ian Thacker did an excellent job at fullback. Halberstadt, Mike Ziegenfuss, Quintrell, and Bobby Huber led the defense to their second consecutive shutout. The sophomores are off next week but return to action October 7 against Neshaminy.

NP vs. CB West
14 - 0 Win

The North Penn Sophomore Team (10th grade) played CB West and won 14-0. Shane Gallagher caught a touchdown pass from Ryan Kelly and Joe Timbo caught a Touchdown pass from Adam Hearns. John Kalis and Mike Carney also played well on offense. The Defense was led by David Gonser, Eric Halberstadt, Greg Quintrell, and Eric Sullivan. The entire secondary played a great game. Chris Spiro, Antonio Sanders, and Ian Sullivan did a great job on special teams.
